I started my construction career in 1977 when I proudly joined and served my country for five years in the United States Navy Seabees. The word Seabee is a play on words using the two letters C and B. It is an acronym for construction battalion. The mascot was a bee flying with a machine gun in one hand while doing construction work with the other. Anyway… I was trained to be a builder (carpenter) and a heavy equipment operator. After military training I took some college courses back home in Pennsylvania. But times were tough in 1982. Instead of finishing college I started working as a helper for home building crews and learning the trade. I even worked as a plumber’s apprentice for a time. Eventually I started to install underground utilities services like storm water management, water, sewer, and excavating for residential and commercial developments in addition to building houses. After years of gray hair and back aches I decided to shift gears and translate my construction background into a much simpler business model. Being brutalized by frigid winters in Western and Central Pennsylvania made the decision to finally move to sunny SWFL in 2013 an easy one. Now having gone through the required training to obtain a license as a home inspector I feel as though this is what all those years of development was for.
