Studio 601, Inc., founded in 2001 by Tim Sorel in Gainesville, Florida, quickly built a reputation as a top-tier production company admired for its excellence on local, regional, and national stages. Under the leadership of creative director Travis H. Chapman, whose expertise spans video editing and After Effects design honed at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, the studio has continuously set innovative standards in the edit suite, often celebrated with awards. The team includes Daniel (Sully) Sullivan, an Apprentice-Producer whose skills in After Effects and Premiere were developed during his time at the University of Florida and have proven pivotal to enhancing Studio 601’s production offerings. Equally significant is Jessica Nilacala Kreitzer, who excels as a lead wardrobe and makeup artist for film, stage, and fashion projects, drawing on national recognition from her education at the University of California, Berkeley and experience with the Hippodrome Theatre. Jeremy Silveira, MōVI operator and technician, elevates the studio’s technical prowess through his collaborations with industry notables such as Shane Hurlbut. Although Tim Sorel now focuses on academia as a professor at the University of Florida since 2008, he still plays an advisory role, guiding Studio 601 in its quest to push creative limits. With this diverse and skilled team, Studio 601 continues to thrive by pushing creative boundaries and producing exceptional work from its Gainesville home base.
