Markus Wilhelm has more than 20 years of experience in the media industry, primarily with Bertelsmann AG and Time Warner. He was a long-serving CEO for publishing and direct marketing firms including Bookspan and Doubleday Direct, and during his tenure, Markus oversaw an international staff of thousands in the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, China and Korea. He currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board at the UNC School of Public Health and as a board member of NC Clean Energy Technology Center. David Scoglio joined Strata Solar as Chief Financial Officer in September 2012. Prior to joining, he served as CFO of Asure Software, Inc., a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ, where he oversaw Finance, Accounting, Business Operations and Human Resources. Before that, he held a variety of positions, ranging from high net worth management to corporate finance, at Fidelity Investments from 1998 to 2009. Blair Schooff, Chief Business Development Officer Blair has been with Strata Solar since 2011. His current focus is creating opportunities for corporate customers to utilize solar energy to meet aggressive sustainability goals. In 2014, he took over the development department and was involved with developing utility relations with utilities across the country. Prior to this, Blair was a project developer and head of Strata Solar’s Marketing and Sales division. Before joining the company, he worked in the music and broadcasting industry in business development in both New York City and London for BMG Entertainment (RCA, Arista, J Records, Jive Records), AOL Europe, Box Television, MusicNet and Peter Gabriel’s We7. John Knight has been developing renewable energy projects for 14 years. As Chief Development Officer, John is responsible for origination and development efforts throughout the United States. He has held senior management positions at SunEdison, Tradewind Energy and was a co-founder at Brightmark Energy. Early in his career he successfully started and built a nationally recognized renewable energy consulting company, KLS, Inc, and subsequently sold it to Westwood Professional Services. John has developed over 2,000 MW’s of renewable energy projects, of which 500 MW’s are either operational or under construction. Jimmy Chuang brings a dozen years of experience in the solar industry to Strata. In his position, he manages the company's capital raise and M&A activities, and helps identify and build relationships with banks and institutional investors. These efforts enhance the ways in which Strata can help consumers and businesses switch to cleaner energy at a lower cost. Throughout his career, Jimmy has executed various transactions for an aggregate value of $50 billion. Prior to joining Strata, he held senior executive positions at GCL, SolarCity, Fotowatio, and Brite Energy powered by Protection 1, and built and financed more than 2,000 megawatts or $6 billion, of North America residential, commercial and utility scale solar projects. Jimmy received a B.S. degree from UC Berkeley and was selected as a Bill Gates Scholar. Cathy Wilhelm’s passion for the environment combined with her 20 years of real estate experience provided her with the skills and knowledge needed to co-found a green construction company, Strata Construction, and Strata Solar, where she works as the Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to Strata, Cathy worked on projects in China involving cost-benefit analyses of soil erosion management controls for the Yellow River. She also worked as an econometrician, managing energy forecast modeling projects for the Canadian public utility Ontario Hydro. Brian manages policy and regulatory affairs for Strata Solar, as well as overseeing strategic internal efforts like our “First Time Right” program. Before joining Strata Solar, Brian was President and Founder of the Southeastern Wind Coalition, where he led wind energy development, policy and advocacy efforts in the Southeast. He has also worked as an engineer on offshore oil and gas drilling in West Africa and has led development teams and finance efforts in the U.S. real estate industry. Brian has extensive experience in energy, project development, project management, engineering, policy and finance. Brian Herndon joined Strata Solar, LLC as general counsel in April 2015. In his former role as lead partner of Blanco Tackabery’s clean energy practice group, he and his team assisted Strata Solar in the development and financing of essentially all of its QFs and in many other matters. Brian’s law practice spans 30+ years, with substantial experience in tax credit finance, commercial real estate finance, structured finance, business organizations and mergers and acquisitions to name a few. While at Blanco, he and Blanco became the go-to firm for renewable energy developers with North Carolina projects. In addition to solar, Brian has represented developers of landfill gas-to-energy biomass and anaerobic digester (hog waste) projects.
