In his day time role as mild manner reporter for the the School of Management, Marketing and International Business, College of Business and Economics at the Australian National University, Stephen spends a lot of time if he ever has to tell people where he works. It’s almost as bad as being the station guard at When not engaging in random acts of teaching, researching or doing productive work, Stephen can be found on the internet. This is true in a literal sense, since you’re at the Stephendann.com website, and a less literal sense in that Stephen might be a When trying to conquer the world, his research interests include social change marketing, political marketing and the adaptation of commercial marketing to non commercial applications such as behavioural change. For those of you following at home, this means that Stephen is paid to figure out the optimum way to get people to do what he wants them to do, and maybe even pay him for the privilege. This is why the American government commissioned the internet as a safety mechanism to distract Stephen with a supply of shiny things. The International Cartel of Marketing Journal Editors are grateful to the US government for commissioning the Internet to distract Stephen from ever deciding publishing in journal is more fun than writing web pages One of the oddities of the academic business is the need to periodically produce short bios. I’m collecting a variety of them on the site so I don’t have to keep rewriting my own bio. Dr Stephen Dann is a Senior Lecturer in the of Management, Marketing and International Business, College of Business and Economics at the Australian National University. Which means to post some scandalous McScandal of something I wrote, you’ll need to clear it with me first. Sure, I’m more than likely to clear it, just to annoy you, and just so you have to write the words “Used with permission” on whatever “THE PHOTOS HE DIDN’T WANT YOU TO SEE” (but gave us permission to um, reprint.). Dairy products (including trace levels): This is a milk allergy, so lactose free milk is still an allergen White wine is a specific allergen as it uses dairy products in the production process Summary: Cheap as hell, acceptable sidearm with practice (or to confirm that you can’t use it properly). But…just isn’t a reliable option in a Nerf match despite the mainstream availability. It should be better. The Review: This is a close quarter combat dream. On a long open field in the Brisbane CTF or the Canberra Haig Park, you don’t get the true value out of the flywheels, and the rapid punch of the darts.  In the Sydney King of the Hill, a factory fresh Rayven with standard batteries provided credible suppressing fire from the hill, and fend off a wave or two of attackers.  The flywheels spin up fairly quickly, and you’ve got a functional array of shots for tagging at close (inside custom equipment minimum) firing ranges, and even punching single shots for a reasonable distance.  The spin up time is a slight delay, but it’s also loud enough to bluff an opponent by spinning up, and getting their attention (and your mate with the longstrike picks them off).  I think this would be a weapon of choice for indoor matches, and as a solid secondary for anyone who needs to lay cover down in a tight spot (flag defence, point defence, spamming). There’s also a nice feel to the weight distribution when running akimbo, although reloading akimbo is awkward. Modded: Extra battery power, and extra range. Good for voltage mods, and having been on the business end of a “foam reign of terror” strike, the flywheels can put some serious distance on stock darts when you’re running Trustfires. Periodically, I have to provide short bios for conferences and presentations, book chapters or other profile events. Here’s a few I prepared earlier… Dr Stephen Dann is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management, Marketing and International Business, College of Business and Economics at the Australian National University.
