. The 360 Gamma is fully compatible with existing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as SCBAs (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) and firefighter bunker gear, and is optimized to provide first-responders with the mobility required to perform their life-saving tasks in the event of a nuclear catastrophe.
StemRad's revolutionary technology, which ties together partial bone marrow shielding with the human body's remarkable regenerative biological processes, brings about an expanded set of response possibilities to nuclear catastrophes. When exposed to high-levels of gamma radiation, the immediate concern to individuals is that of Acute Radiation Syndrome (ARS), also referred to as radiation sickness. In such cases, damage to the body’s bone marrow leads to fatal aplastic anemia, the hallmark of which is a severe lack of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. The pelvic bones contain the body’s largest concentration of bone marrow, so protecting them from the harmful effects of gamma radiation is crucial. The StemRad 360 Gamma is worn around the pelvic area, affording highly effective protection to the body’s “life factory.” In situations of exposure to high doses of gamma radiation this could mean the difference between life and death. Protection from gamma radiation, while at the same time allowing for full mobility, was not possible before StemRad developed the revolutionary 360 Gamma.

A provider of regulatory consulting services to Israel’s medical device industry,
The Wanaka Capital team brings commercialization, finance and strategy acumen as well as a broad international business network. Wanaka is building a portfolio of start-ups which bring true innovation to traditional processes and sectors, such as food, security, manufacturing and medicine.
StemRad has received funding from notable life-sciences and technology business leaders from Israel and the US, who have shown their continued support for the development and marketing of StemRad’s revolutionary gamma radiation protection products.
Dr. Gale is considered one of the world’s top authorities on the health effects of radiation. In 1986, he was asked by the government of the Soviet Union to coordinate medical relief efforts for victims of the Chernobyl disaster. In 1987, he was asked by the government of Brazil to coordinate medical relief efforts for the Goiania accident. In 1999 he was asked by the government of Japan to help treat victims of the Tokaimura nuclear accident. In 2011 Gale was called to Japan to deal with medical consequences of the Fukushima nuclear power station accident.
StemRad has made personal protection from radiation possible, making the lives of first responders, soldiers and astronauts safer while they complete their critical tasks. Through scientific breakthrough,
StemRad has enabled shielding to save lives
StemRad’s solution is to harness the regenerative capability of stem cells to allow the body to recover after exposure. We do so by selectively and effectively
the bone marrow and other stem cell rich organs in the abdominal and pelvic regions such as the ovaries, colon and bladder. This is the only way to provide meaningful protection while remaining mobile. Competing whole body solutions offer little to no protection from penetrating radiation such as gamma rays as they would have to weigh a quarter of a ton to do so.
"StemRad's products dramatically increase survival upon exposure to high radiation doses while substantially reducing cancer probability due to continued exposures to low doses of radiation"
