Starrett tools are made to the highest standard of quality and workmanship. We want every tool in the hands of our customers to be accurate and satisfactory. Any tool proved to be defective in material or workmanship will, at our discretion, be repaired or replaced at no charge. Please note that we cannot replace or give credit for tools that have been improperly used, stamped or mutilated, or tools that have been altered or repaired by personnel not authorized by The L S Starrett Company. We will be pleased to quote a price to repair such tools.
At the time of manufacture, Starrett precision measuring tools meet or exceed accuracy and performance requirements of national and international standards, and are traceable to the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology.

It is worthy to note, however, that we at The L S Starrett Company regularly service and repair our precision measuring tools that have been passed from generation to generation. The broad Starrett product line includes precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, rules, etc.), levels, electronic gages, dial indicators, gage blocks and granite surface plates and custom engineered products. The company offers metrology equipment including optical measuring projectors, vision systems and multi-sensor measuring systems, many of which are custom engineered. The precision group also includes M1 lubricant, precision ground flat stock and drill rod. Starrett hand measuring tools and other precision products are used by manufacturing companies of many types and sizes to ensure the quality of their products.
VIEW PRODUCTS
While best known for precision tools in the United States, Starrett is also a major, worldwide manufacturer of saw blade products. The saw blade product group includes three categories. Band saw blades are used primarily in manufacturing facilities. The Power Tool Accessories and Hand Saws group include hole saws, jig and reciprocating blades and hacksaw products. The jobsite and workshop group includes tape measures, levels, protractors and other tools used primarily on construction jobsites and workshops.
Starrett tools are essential for the many products that are measured, cut, formed or assembled. They are used in a broad range of manufacturing facilities as an essential part of metalworking, the manufacturing of durable goods, for working with exotic materials and in a wide variety of traditional and newer industries such as electronics, aerospace, energy and many others. Starrett products are sold throughout the United States and worldwide through distributors, dealers, and retailers and online. In recent years, the Company has broadened its product offering through acquisitions and innovative product line expansion. If I have an invention or an idea, how do I go about presenting it to Starrett?
We are always interested in developments related to our line. Our policy for reviewing ideas or inventions from the outside is very informal in that we do not require any contracts or agreements between the inventor and ourselves for an initial study.
We have various Starrett tools that have certifications. How often do they need to be updated or re-certified?
There is no specific timetable for re-calibration of tools. There are many factors that should be taken into consideration when a tool needs to be re-calibrated. Amount of use, environment and care of tool, etc. must be considered. It is up to each company or individual to decide how often a tool needs to be re-certified.
