Starfish Adventures Inc. is a non-profit organization that was founded in March of 2007. Through counseling, consulting, and life-coaching, we help people of all ages experience life with purpose, the way they were meant to live. Our Mission The vision of Starfish Adventures is to provide an environment where people learn to identify their true worth, that everything and everyone is valuable and created with purpose. In this positive environment, we rediscover that childlike freedom and life becomes a passionate adventure. People are encouraged to do the very best that they can in all that they do. They are reminded to value themselves and their relationships, as well as the needs and dreams of others. They are empowered with the tools needed to live- to truly live- with hope and intention. Kenneth LeRoy Merritt (Kenny) is the founder of Starfish Adventures. Kenny graduated Suma Cum Laude from Calvary Theological Seminary with a degree in Christian Counseling and Minor in Christian Education. His notable and renowned skills as a licensed pastoral counselor and certified temperament therapist have just as much to do with his life experiences as they do with his education. Kenny believes that life is an adventure and that we have been created to enjoy the adventure rather than just endure it. His intention, dedication, and experience reflect that belief. One of Kenny’s favorite quotes is, “Be the change you want to see in the world,” and he strives to live that way each day. In 1997, he developed a successful discipleship program for troubled youth and their families. For seven years, he was a Parent Liaison who worked with students, parents, teachers, and administrators for the Manatee County School District. Kenny has been a facilitator and director of professional experiential education programs since 2002. He was the Men’s Ministry leader at The Bridge Church of Palma Sola Bay from 2004 until 2011. Kenny continues to support our community by volunteering his time and services to families, teachers, churches, local programs and organizations. Kenny’s desire is to provide the tools, in an atmosphere, which will empower the community to transform itself into an affirming, enriched, safe, and supportive environment for everyone… Starfish Adventures is a non-profit organization that was founded in March of 2007.
