STANSFELD SCOTT INC., OLDSMAR

Located in the Tampa Bay area, Stansfeld Scott Inc. manages and markets a premium portfolio of wines, spirits, and health products through more than 150 independent distributors in 35 countries across the Caribbean. Its sister company, Stansfeld Scott & Co., a Barbados-based distributor, represents products in the fine wines, spirits and beverages, and consumer products divisions. Wine World Inc., the premier specialty wine and spirits retailer in Barbados, is wholly owned by Stansfeld Scott & Co. Ltd. Stansfeld Scott takes product development seriously and is committed to pursuing market share over the long term. We specialize in providing Caribbean countries with a diversified portfolio. On his first ever trip to the Caribbean region, Director of Winemaking for Robert Mondavi Private Selection, Jason Dodge, arrived in Grand Cayman of the Cayman Islands where he participated in multiple events to promote Robert Mondavi Private Selection. Jason not only conducted bartender, restaurant staff and Tortuga Rum Company retail staff training sessions, but was also interviewed on a local radio station where he paired Robert Mondavi Private Selection wines with local Caymanian dishes. Andres Lugo, the Portfolio Manager for Stansfeld Scott who accompanied Jason Dodge commented, "Albeit short, Jason’s time through the Caribbean was extremely productive as it allowed him to connect with many people both in the consumer and trade environment, many of which were reintroduced to the wines with rave reviews." “We are extremely proud to accept the 2017 African Leaders 4 Change Award and yet humbled by having shared the stage with the likes of Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Graҫa Machel and Mandla Mandela who accepted the award on behalf of the late President Nelson Mandela,” says Saramien Dekker, Global Brand Development Manager. Immediately after the storms passed, Stansfeld Scott reached out to their distribution partners from each of the affected islands and determined that all employees were safe but many had experienced some degree of personal loss especially regarding their homes. Some of the businesses suffered extensive damage but were assessing the situation and re-establishing operations despite the dire circumstances. Based on feedback received from the affected countries, it was determined that beyond food and beverage, building supplies were most needed. On September 22, 2017, Stansfeld Scott launched their “For Stansfeld Scott, many of these people are not nameless. They are our friends and colleagues who work with our brands daily,” noted Brian Cabral, President/CEO of Stansfeld Scott. “We wanted to assist them, their families and communities with essential building supplies to ease their transition to normalcy.” With the support and generosity of almost all Stansfeld Scott suppliers along with key logistics partners, the fund has surpassed the initial goal (USD125K) and has reached USD150, 000. Procurement of some items in short supply has delayed filling the containers, but the first of six 20-foot containers of building supplies is scheduled to ship mid November. Distribution of supplies is being coordinated through local trading partners. It has been a truly collaborative and fulfilling initiative for the Stansfeld Scott team. The storms have passed and most of the debris has been cleared, but the arduous task of rebuilding is on going. Direct communication, understanding of the local situation and cooperation is paramount. Stansfeld Scott understands these fundamentals and will continue to work with their distributors on their road to recovery as their Caribbean partners rebuild not only their islands but also their lives. Stansfeld Scott expresses their deep appreciation to their trading partners who supported the initiative, including Accolade Wines of Australia and the UK, Grupo Claro and Veramonte of Chile, Bardinet, Gabriel Meffre & Patriarche of France, Bosca and Santa Margherita of Italy SPI Spirits of Latvia, Babich Wines of New Zealand, William Grant of Scotland, Distell of South Africa, Casamigos, Constellation Wines, Premium Ports and Sazerac of the USA and Principle Healthcare of the UK. Transportation of the containers will be provided by JF Hillebrand and TGD Consolidators. D & M Construction of Barbados also volunteered a generous donation. On September 6th, Hurricane Irma barreled through the northeast Caribbean as a Category 5 storm devastating Barbuda, St. Martin/Maarten, St. Barthélemy, Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands and St. Thomas and St. John’s in the US Virgin Islands. While the death toll was low, there are many in these islands whose homes or businesses have been demolished or are in some form of disrepair. All residents of Barbuda have been evacuated to Antigua and the British, Dutch and French and US have flown in military and relief teams to their dependent territories. Stansfeld Scott employees based in St. Maarten and Puerto Rico are safe as are our distributors in the affected countries. They are faced with the arduous task of rebuilding but their spirit has not been broken and they are already reorganizing under the dire circumstances and acting as a hub for their employees who are facing hardships on the personal front. Stansfeld Scott, in association with its suppliers, has initiated a hurricane relief program that will ship building and emergency supplies directly to the affected countries. Distribution of supplies will be handled by a competent local organization. Listed below are a number of links to articles/videos that provide further insight into the extent of damage caused by these two natural disasters: The vodka that established the super-premium category in 1989 refreshes its bottle, label and production process as a Single Estate Alpha Spirit. Stoli® Vodka, the original premium vodka, announced an update to its super-premium offering, Stoli® Gold. First conceived as Stoli Cristal in 1989 to add a new dimension to the category, the expression name was changed a decade later as a nod to its final filtration stage through coils of gold thread. Stoli Gold’s redesign includes the bottle, label and production process and is aimed at elevating the consumer experience at shelf in the off-trade and at high-end clubs and lounges in the on-trade. The product is now available in 750 mL and 1 litre sizes in top USA and global markets, along with select duty-free retailers.
