From sheet metal roofing, roof curbs, siding and wall panels, column covers, and sun control systems to industrial dust collection systems, material conveyance systems, stainless steel food production components, and everything imaginable in the custom sheet metal arena, SSM opened its doors in November of 1983. We are still located in the Northeast Industrial District of Kansas City, Missouri. Our offices and shop have grown from an initial 5,000 square foot facility to the current size of nearly 40,000 square feet. In the early years of our company’s development, we focused on custom & industrial fabrication and installation. During the last 20 years, we have increased our scope to include other aspects of the sheet metal industry – including, Architectural Sheet Metal and the Design, Fabrication and Installation of this scope. Today, our diverse company has invested in the right people, state of the art equipment and maintaining an open inventory of materials that has allowed us to be responsive and adaptive to our customer’s needs in all aspects of the industry. By combining Architectural, Commercial & Industrial design, fabrication and installation under the same roof, it allows our customers to have a more complete package. As most of our competitors are only able to specialize in just one area, we believe this provides with a unique advantage in the market place of today. By having this diverse perspective, we are able to utilize methods and equipment from our various markets and develop custom solutions to specific challenges. As part of the original company vision, SSM sought out people with a variety of experiences to create a pool of knowledge to draw from. Today that is still true as SSM employees people with a wide array of sheet metal experience, on projects around the globe and with different degrees of complexity. Throughout our years of steady growth we have made it a priority to update and enhance our fabrication equipment, keeping the edge on technology while furnishing a high quality product at competitive prices. operates over 35,000 square feet of production & staging areas with CNC equipment that can fabricate the smallest most intricate computer component to mammoth 15 foot diameter cyclone dust collection systems. The maximum force for our new punch press is 23 tons with a maximum material thickness of .315”. We can punch material up to a max sheet size of 60” wide x 168” long. This allows us the ability to punch a 2” diameter hole through 1/8” thick stainless steel. Smaller diameter holes allow for thicker material to be used, call to discuss how we can help with your project.
