Anyone can—and should—use the number to request a free underground locate before any excavation activity. In 2014, S&N acquired Stake Center Locating. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Stake Center offers the highest level of accuracy in utility locating. We provide quality training for all our locators, including print reading, ticket management, safety, NULCA, human resources and OQ training for gas and pipeline facilities. Equipped with the latest tools and technology, our locating teams make safety the top priority (eliminating damages, protecting the public and customers' facilities) while consistently meeting deadlines. With Stake Center’s stronghold in states west of the Mississippi River, the acquisition provided S&N with a much greater footprint for locating services. In return, the business move allowed Stake Center to add to its menu of services by offering utility construction for which it previously didn't have capacity. S&N now provides locating services in 38 states across communications, electric, gas, fiber networks, private locates and SUE work. We average more than 400,000 completed locate requests each month.
