The board of directors of SRQLAX, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to promote the growth and development of high school varsity lacrosse in Sarasota County public schools, would like to offer you a unique opportunity to compete in lacrosse and take their sport to the collegiate level, with all the admissions and scholarship possibilities that entails, has never been better. SRQLAX was founded in 2013 to meet this need and help transition lacrosse into a Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) sanctioned varsity sport in Sarasota County public high schools. With the support of the Sarasota County School Board we established a pilot program at Riverview High School in 2016, with the requirement that we fully fund the program ourselves. The entire Venice community is excited to embrace this new sport. However, SRQLAX must once again fully fund the program – raising $90,000 to do so. Thanks to generous community support, $60,000 of that goal has been reached, but we still face the task of raising the remaining funds – with our next installment of $30,000 due by May 1, 2018. To sustain this sport for the student athletes of Venice, we need your help!
