Clare H. Springs is the founding partner in the law firm of Springs & Associates in San Francisco. She is a graduate of Mills College and received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall, now Berkeley Law) in 1972. Ms. Springs has practiced in the trusts and estate field of law for her entire career. She started her career at McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen and headed the tax and estate planning and administration group at Dinkelspiel, Donovan & Reder for fifteen years before joining Titchell, Maltzman, Mark & Ohleyer, where she practiced for ten years until the firm dissolved in 2008 at which time she formed Springs & Associates.
Ms. Springs has been active in her field with a number of national organizations. She served as a Treasurer of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association from 1992 to 1997 where she served on numerous committees over the years of her practice. She is a former member of the Board of Regents of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and continues to serve on several of its committees. She is a former member of the American Bar Association’s multi-disciplinary Commission on Legal Problems of the Elderly, a well-respected think tank for the study of elderly and health care issues. She is an Academician of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law. She has been a member of editorial boards of several wealth transfer publications including Trusts and Estate and the CCH Financial and Estate Planning Service. She is also a member of the American Law Institute where she currently serves on the review panel for the Restatement of Trusts.
Ms. Springs has lectured widely on estate planning and administration topics, including at the University of Miami (Heckerling Institute), the American Bar Association, Wilmington Trust Company, the Maryland Bar Association, the California Continuing Legal Education Program, the American Law Institute and for other similar non-profit continuing legal education organizations. She served as the California editor of Durable Powers of Attorney for Health Care, a national loose-leaf book, and has authored four chapters of California Will Drafting.
Ms. Springs is a member of Women’s Forum West, the local Bay Area affiliate of the International Women’s Forum, an international women’s business organization.

He started his career at Berliner Cohen in San Jose in 1996 as a tax associate and later moved to Los Angeles and joined KPMG LLP’s Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Group. Mr. Wilson returned to the Bay Area in 2002 and joined the law firm of Titchell, Maltzman, Mark & Ohleyer in San Francisco where he practiced for four years until opening up his own law practice in 2006.
Mr. Wilson is active with the American Bar Association Tax Section and especially its Closely Held Businesses Committee (CHB) which focuses on Mr. Wilson’s primary practice areas – tax, business law and estate planning matters which impact closely held businesses and their owners. The CHB committee has several hundred members. Mr. Wilson has previously served as Chair CHB’s subcommittee for young tax lawyers, is currently the Vice-Chair of the CHB committee and is the incoming Chair of the committee.
