SOX FOR HORSES, INC., TALLAHASSEE

Our summer socks offer a light compression to the leg. Many have found that the socks are useful for protecting bandaging, helping to hold on poultices, and for alleviating edema in the legs. Go to “ are for cold weather, offering warmth to equine legs. Made from a wool blend yarn, this departs from our philosophy avoiding natural fiber, but you look to the purpose of each sock and nothing offers warmth like the combination of wool and acrylic. In order to help hold down the growth of bacteria, fungi and mold in the socks, Whinny Warmers® are lined with a layer of the same antimicrobial yarn used to make the Silver Whinnys™. Most horses needing Whinny Warmers® are not running around when the winter temperatures are extreme. They are standing frozen to the ground in pain and until the socks begin to sink that warmth into the legs, until that horse begins to feel a constant period of warmth, it’s not going to have many periods of great activity. But watch out! When your horse’s has had a little time enjoying the circulation that warmth brings to the legs or the comfort that warmth brings to arthritis, you are going to find the socks slumping more and maybe, coming off in the pasture! Your horse is going to become a horse again. Celebrate and adjust the socks more often. You just made life good again for your horse. We have never had a horse injured because of losing a sock. Whinny Warmers® are well made. They are meant to last many winters. They are not expensive. Keep a pair handy and a pair on. Use Nikwax to help them repel water if your horse is out in the weather. Horses don’t live in stalls most of the time. Sox For Horses, Inc. rises to the challenge presented by mud, snow and rain to help owners/handlers obtain optimum function from their equine sox or wraps and bandages during the wet, cold months of the year. Horses in bandaging and standing wraps may be restricted to stall rest in the beginning, but there is a point in healing when a supervised slow gentle walk outside can help a horse. Bandaging is expensive, so keeping bandages clean and dry often inhibits an owner from taking the horse outside for a short supervised walk. Not anymore. Whinny Wellies™ offer another model constructed to fit bandages, polo wraps, and standing wraps*. Whinny Wellies™ are made of a three-part system of densely woven fabric, micro-porous polyurethane coating, and a water repellent finish. This fabric is waterproof, windproof, durable, and high performance. The best quality high-tension snap closures and heavy-duty hook and loop fastenings are utilized to bring to our customers a product that is well-constructed and equine tough. Veterinarian recommended. Owner referred. Horse approved. Sox For Horses® Inc. makes a difference in the lives of people and animals while supporting equine and animal rescue organizations and adding jobs in American manufacturing. Whinny Wellies™, Whinny Warmers® with Celiant®, and Silver Whinnys® (formerly Summer Whinnys®) are all Made In America. Increase your "C" is common seasonal advice for warding off a winter cold and Sox For Horses, Inc. -- already a leader in cutting-edge silver fiber science with its Summer Whinnys® – is doing exactly that, upping the "C" in equine "care" through the use of the groundbreaking fiber, Celliant®, in its line of winter socks for horses, Whinny Warmers®. It’s a proven fact that metabolically challenged horses often have difficulty adjusting to cold temperatures. This is an actual health hazard for horses that have experienced founder or chronic laminitis as blood vessels in their legs and hooves are likely already damaged. This damage can worsen in cold weather, causing extreme pain and even laminitis. So it’s no surprise that Sox For Horses, Inc., already recognized by the use of cutting edge silver yarn in the Summer Whinnys® is all about bringing a whole lot more therapy to cold and compromised equine legs with the addition of Celliant®. Celliant's® blend of proprietary ingredients absorbs light (both visible and infrared) and changes the wavelength to a form beneficial to the body. The energy from this light improves blood flow in the targeted area. Celliant® works by increasing the amount of blood traveling into the affected area, not by causing the blood to absorb more oxygen. The increased blood flow and tissue oxygen levels help muscles and joints combat stiffness, soreness and edema caused by aging, injury or arthritis. One key mineral in Celliant® is titanium dioxide, which is a photocatalytic, or light-absorbing mineral. Electromagnetic energy given off by the body is absorbed (typically in the infrared and visible light ranges) and then remitted back to the body with modified wavelengths. This energy is then able to reach more deeply into the tissue due to the increased refraction and light scattering properties of the minerals in Celliant®. In the tissue, the energy vasodilates (opens) blood vessels and allows more oxygenated blood flow to reach poorly circulating areas. The increased blood flow and tissue oxygen levels help muscles and joints combat stiffness, soreness and edema caused by aging, injury or arthritis. Products containing Celliant® have no adverse effects as they work directly with the body to enable it to be more effective, and as such, can be used continually. Just as the silver used in the Summer Whinnys® never washes out of the yarn, Celliant® is also an embedded technology that never washes out. Horse owners can also feel confident that the fiber is non-toxic and biologically benign, working with the body to help it do what comes naturally. Sox For Horses, Inc. is proud to continue its Made in America mission by utilizing Celliant® yarn. Celliant® fiber and yarn are Made in America. It’s twice as rewarding to know that we can offer even greater benefits to horses and other equines, and do it through two fantastic, American yarn sciences.
