Our Business Southern Hydro Vac, Inc. is the leading (soft dig) hydro excavation company in Georgia. We are based in Powder Springs, Georgia and work primarily in Atlanta and the Southeast. We are a service orientated company, performing hydro excavation for a large network of companies and contractors. Southern Hydro Vac, Inc. is fully insured and Safety is a major consideration in the performance of our work. Originally started in October of 2003, with two trucks, we have grown over the years to a fleet of 12 trucks, support equipment and a trained staff. Southern Hydro Vac, Inc. owns, operates and maintains the newest and finest hydro vac trucks and equipment. We have an internal service department and staff of three service men. Our shop facility has four open bays and is equipped to perform all minor and major repairs. We keep a full inventory of tires, parts, filters, etc. So if our trucks or vac systems need attention, there is no waiting for 3 Southern Hydro Vac, Inc’s management personnel are all customer orientated, so as to provide our clients with the best possible service in this industry. The management consists of a General Manager, Sales Representative, Dispatch Manager and two supporting clerical personnel. Our goal is to serve and satisfy our customers by improving the cost effectiveness and quality of our services, by building a team of people who will develop and maintain a quality and service oriented attitude that leads the industry and creates a sustainable competitive advantage for Southern Hydro Vac, Inc. We are one of the few hydro excavation companies that are approved to work at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, as well as the Georgia Power and The Southern Companies’ power plants. The Southern Hydro Vac Team Our team members are why Southern Hydro Vac has grown and thrived since 2003. I have over 40 years of experience in the construction industry with Yancey Bros. Co., Paramont Grading, Aiken Grading and Ruby Collins before joining Southern Hydro Vac. I have served as General Manager with Southern Hydro Vac since 2013. I am originally from Youngstown, OH, but I have spent most of my life in Georgia and am proud to call it home. I have a background in Business Administration and Sales, which is where I learned to serve my customers. Prior to becoming our Project Estimator/Sales Representative, I spent 6 months in the field as a Hydro Excavation apprentice. During my time in the field, I developed a thorough understanding of the capabilities of our Hydro Vac trucks. I've worked in the construction industry for nearly 20 years. I began working for a grading and pipeline contractor in, GA. I enjoyed running all types of heavy equipment and was able to advance quickly within the company. after 13 years, I left there as a Grading Foreman to pursue a career with Southern Hydro Vac Inc. in 2011. I started at the company learning Hydro Vac operations and soon was presented with the opportunity to head up back-filling operations. In the summer of 2017, I took over the Service Coordinator position for Southern Hydro Vac Inc. I have been employed with Southern Hydro Vac since February of 2015 and have brought with me over 15 years of Accounting and Customer Service experience in a variety of different industries. I love working with our customers and use my experience to organize, implement, and solve problems to keep the Southern Hydro Vac office running smoothly on a daily basis. I am a Georgia native who likes to spend her Saturdays in the fall watching the University of Georgia Bulldogs and yelling GO DAWGS with my husband and dog, Buddy. When not watching football I enjoy going on a treasure hunt at the local Goodwill, catching a Braves game and doing the chop or reading a good book. I have been providing Administrative support for Southern Hydro Vac since October 2015. I have over 10 years of experience in various business environments and am capable of wearing many hats and juggling multiple priorities. My major focus is in Accounts Payable, Payroll processing, keeping up with employees’ certifications and testing. I also assist with truck scheduling when needed. I am committed to providing high-quality customer service thereby giving the customer a positive experience and hopefully repeat business. I was born and raised in Georgia and taught growing up that if you want something in life you have to work for it. That’s exactly what I started doing straight out of high school as a heavy equipment mechanic. In 2003 I was introduced to hydro excavation when Southern Hydro Vac was launched. I guess you can say these trucks kind of sucked me into the business. In 2008 I became Southern Hydro Vac’s full time mechanic. Setting up shop for the company was exciting and fun for me. My goal is to keep the right parts in stock in order to have as little equipment down time as possible. Now at Southern Hydro Vac we perform 100% of the vacuum loader repairs, while subbing out very few cab and chassis repairs. We employ 3 full time mechanics to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on our 9 Hydro Vac trucks and 1 Flush Combo truck. I enjoy working at Southern Hydro Vac. It has become my dream job.
