Craig Smith left a successful law practice in San Francisco to follow his dream – the dream of creating extraordinary travel experiences for the mind, body & spirit with and for like-minded friends. Through conversations with some of these friends, and a shared vision of crafting unique and inspiring experiences, Source Events was born in 2001. Over the past 15 years, Source Events has become a recognized leader in luxury gay travel, producing all-gay cruises and adventures around the world. Craig has assembled a team of professionals with expertise in every facet of travel and event production. He brings to Source Events his years of experience as Director of Events for the Winter Party Festival and as an elected public official. Under Craig’s leadership, Source Events has continued to make a difference in the community by supporting LGBT organizations such as the National LGBTQ Task Force, Pridelines, StandUpFoundation, Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. In 2014, Craig was honored with the Morgan Stanley Business Person of the Year Award by the Miami Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. Rafi brings passion, fun, and a love of adventure to Source Events along with 15 years of experience in the field of management, entertainment, accounting and marketing. Rafi has been part of Source Events from the beginning as Craig’s life partner, and joined Source Events staff on a full time basis in 2010, where he has taken the lead in customer service, event planning and production. Originally from Venezuela, Rafi became a U.S. Citizen in 1999. Michael Philipson has over 25 years experience in graphic and web design, communications, and marketing. He founded and built – from the ground up – TWO successful creative firms during that time: Cre8tiv Juice Group in Miami, FL, and The Philipson Group, in Rochester, NY. He is originally from Ionia, New York and has traveled the world. He’s fluent in French and received a certificate of Marine Biology from the University of Rennes in France.
