We accomplish this by surrounding ourselves with a diverse team of professionals that have a strong background in plant and microbial biology within the agriculture, professional turf, landscape and waste management industries. The Solutions 4Earth story begins in 1995 when Mark Doble started Pro Turf International, a company that handled construction, renovation and maintenance of golf courses. In the 2000s, Pro Turf was offered the opportunity to try a newer fertilizer offered by a company based in Henderson, Nevada. “After six weeks, I got a call back from my golf superintendent, who had been adamantly opposed to putting these applications down on the course,” says Doble. “He said, you may want to come out and take a look at this. We have grass growing where it’s never grown. Our grass is now better and thicker. And we have drainage on the golf course where we’ve never had it before.” The company began using the product extensively and eventually Pro Turf purchased more and started relabeling it to sell to Doble’s friends in the sports field business under the name of Solutions 4Turf. Clients included stadiums where the Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Cardinals and other high-profile teams played. In 2012, Doble’s company purchased the Henderson-based fertilizer company and Solutions 4Earth was founded. “We’re much different from a traditional fertilizer company. Our products are focused on improving soil health in order to bring out the potential in plant life,” Doble said. 4R Nutrient Stewardship is a framework designed to help farmers achieve cropping system goals, such as increased production, increased farmer profitability, enhanced environmental protection and improved sustainability.
