President of Sleep Study Advisors, Inc. Sleep is so important we spend a third of our life sleeping. I have spent almost half of my life studying sleep. I joined the United States Navy after attending Old Mill High School in Maryland. I have a passion to help people! During my naval career, I had the opportunity to attend hospital corpsman school, field medical school and electroneurodiagnostic school. While at Pensacola Naval Hospital, I had the opportunity to work with sleep disorder patients. Upon retiring from the United States Navy, due to a traumatic brain injury, I was employed by West Florida Hospital and became the sleep lab coordinator. During this time, I also passed the board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. In 2003 Sleep Study Advisors, Inc was started when contracted as a service provider at the Pensacola Naval Hospital. While working for Sleep Study Advisors, Inc., I have had the opportunity to be the Technical Director of Pensacola Sleep Disorder Center, Sleep Easy and the West Florida Medical Center Clinic Sleep Diagnostic Center.  My pursuit of educating patients and improving clinical outcomes resulted in becoming a Clinical Sleep Educator. My goal is to serve as a resource to the community and other health care providers by promoting education on sleep disorders, follow up and outcomes as well as good sleep hygiene. I do not diagnose, treat or provide any services prohibited by law or scope of practice. We are passionate about educating patients with sleep disorders and improving clinical outcomes. The four most common sleep disorders are insomnia, sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Additional sleep problems include chronic insufficient sleep, circadian rhythm abnormalities and “parasomnias” such as sleep walking, sleep paralysis and night terrors.
