SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center is one of the premier economic engines in the Valley of the Sun. The City of Scottsdale and the Arizona State University Foundation reach an agreement to redevelop the corner of Scottsdale Road and McDowell Road into what will become SkySong. After two years of construction, the first two buildings at SkySong open and ASU SkySong is established. The buildings immediately generate significant interest from potential tenants. Work begins on the SkySong Apartments, the residential component of the project with a total of 325 residences. SkySong 3 celebrated its Grand Opening on January 13, where Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane, ASU President Michael Crow and other dignitaries experienced the new building. SkySong 4 opened in the fall to companies including Booker Software, Brightcove, EdPlus at ASU and Mindbody.
