Learn more about her humanitarian and professional experiences Xahej Bajipura, Show and Heal President and Founder Over the years, his volunteer experience has connected him to the spectrum of human being – people of all colors, faiths and orientations through organizations such as Boys and Girls Club, Big Brother Big Sister, and Food Not Bombs, among others. He found his calling as a yoga instructor in the countryside of the Guatemalan highlands and came to know yoga as a powerful antidote to the divisive forces that keep us from one another. His love of Guatemala, the Mayan peoples, and the larger Latino community inspired him to connect through yoga outreach to the Hispanic community in San Francisco, which is how he met Show and Heal founder Xahej Bajipura. His hope for Show and Heal is to offer a safe space and a spotlight to all those beautiful children who feel left out or marginalized. He is inspired by the brave kids who share their stories with Show and Heal and wants them to know that here they are safe, loved and appreciated. May all beings everywhere be peaceful, happy and free. James Doherty, Show and Heal Treasurer Dakota has over eight years of experience in video content creation, from producing, directing, and editing. My life is not much different than yours. ~ Dakota Dakota Howell, Show and Heal Secretary page to tell us what we’re doing right or what we can improve on. SHOW AND HEAL: LGBT Show and Heal’s interview with the young LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) community is out on Show and Heal had the privilege of conversing with three inspiring young people-Eli, Kanon, and Que-the from the LGBT community. Xahej Bajipura of Show and Heal listened to, shared tea and Indian homemade daal with Eli, Kanon, and Que. She learned so much about their hearts, ambitions, and hopes for the future world, one of inclusion, equality, and love. Let’s take a moment to hear and see their struggles, talents, and desires for peace so we can FEAR LESS. We are all human and #WeBelong. Special thanks to Peter and Rick, of Grandview Gardens Bed & Breakfast in West Palm Beach. They are a beautiful couple who opened one of their cottage homes for the shooting of this special Show and Heal interview! Thanks to our high school video crew as well for doing their best to capture the beauty and authenticity of the LGBT community! One correction: Xahej accidentally used the pronoun “she” when talking about Eli helping with makeup. Eli now identifies himself with the pronouns “he/him/his.” I am Xahej Bajipura of Show And Heal. Over the past four months, I’ve interacted with one specific immigrant community. We’ve interviewed inspiring, beautiful Latino youth in South Florida. a young newspaper editor Lulu, an American of Mexican origins, who discovered my journalistic talents. We have so much in common, including loving, hardworking immigrant families. And we are both about empowering the communities we live in. Currently, Latinos have the highest purchasing power of any group and employ 2.5 million Americans. It was reaffirmed in the interviews that their values are strong and centered in family, education, and hard work. Many work 2-3 jobs to support their families and save for higher education. Lastly, immigration is nothing new. Our ancestors migrated at some point and we are where we are due to this movement. Please let’s stop living with the same fear and hate that our ancestors experienced trying to better their lives in America. We are all striving for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for ourselves and families.
