Our Mission Shop2care's Mission is to enable everyone to become a philanthropist by providing a platform that allows you to generate money for worthy causes and exemplify successful social entrepreneurship. In 1996, at age 29, Asofsky founded Twin-Star International, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of home furnishings. The company started in a spare bedroom with just a few products that Asofsky designed himself, but during his sixteen-year tenure as CEO, he drove revenues to over $200 million. Simultaneous with Twin-Star’s success, Mark and his wife became increasingly involved in causes for which they care deeply. When Mark asked his parents to join the board of the Asofsky Family Foundation, he noticed an amazing thing happened to them. For the first time, his parents were in a position to financially help others in need and their perspective on things changed. They found themselves more aware of the world and human condition around them and spent a lot of time thinking about how they would best maximize their opportunity to help others. Suddenly, articles and news reports about education, hunger, disease and other social issues received more of their attention and as they attended events and met people. They were always contemplating how they might be able to help. Mark hopes that through Shop2Care, he can bring this feeling to others. Thus the inspiration for Shop2Care.
