Shepherd's Village provides single parent families with affordable housing, services, and resources to experience growth, stability, and a path to self sufficiency for the parent and child facing significant crisis and change. Through a two-year residency program, as well as non-resident counsel and guidance, Shepherd’s Village provides opportunities for healing and hope through guidance in spiritual and emotional growth, financial management and budgeting, job interviewing and career guidance, time management, conflict resolution, and other issues relative to the uniqueness of single parenting. A host of additional resources include community involvement, seminars and workshops by many business, community, and church leaders, food baskets, clothing, furniture, and more. Shepherd’s Village is a faith based organization dedicated to the advocacy of single parents and their children. Helping Families Build Better Futures We demonstrate Christ's love and compassion by providing a nurturing environment during transitional seasons of parents and children as they experience the brokenness caused by death, divorce, separation or never having been married. Residency is limited to a two-year period allowing for families to achieve their personal goals. Thus Shepherd's Village provides a nurturing Christian environment during transitional and reorientation periods of the lives of the families served. Shepherd's Village is a private religious organization funded by special programs, individual donors, private and general foundations, mission support and long term giving such as wills, trusts and memorial gifts. Thanks to these donors and foundations, we have assisted more than 285 families and 680 children to have a safe and supportive "fresh start". Advocating for struggling single parent families throughout the community and nationally, to bring healing, hope and a healthy future through affordable housing and intentional life-equipping learning and social, cultural opportunities. The services provided by Shepherd's Village include affordable housing, life skill management, job training, parenting skills and financial planning as well as redefining vocational and educational goals. Special spiritual and recreational activities for parents and their children complement the program. 26 years of service - over 285 single parent families and 680 children helped - 90% success rate for self-sufficiency.
