Shaw Properties Inc., a well-known builder and developer, calls Tequesta, Florida home while maintaining strong ties to California. The company's story all started in the 1920s with Donald Francis Shaw, an industrious young man who began his career as a carpenter right after World War I. From there, he helped put up various state projects, including the now-famous Ahwanee Hotel nestled in the heart of Yosemite National Park. In the 1930s, Mr. Shaw ventured out to establish his own general contracting firm in Los Angeles. As the years rolled by, Shaw Properties went through some major transformations and leadership changes. During World War II, Donald F. Shaw's son, Donald Wilder Shaw, served on a destroyer escort. His dad was part of the Navy’s Construction Battalion (the Sea Bees). After peace returned, in 1946, father and son revived their construction business and introduced innovative concrete tilt-up construction methods. Their journey only got bolder from there. In Southern California, they developed iconic spots like the Californian Commerce Center in Ontario and the Pacific Commercentre in Lake Forest. The company also joined forces with well-known names such as Santa Fe Land and Improvement Company and Wells Fargo Realty Advisors, adding to its list of achievements. Officially incorporated under Florida law on October 25, 1963, Shaw Properties is headquartered at 222 US Hwy One Suite 208 H in Tequesta FL. Today, the company splits into two key divisions: Shaw Industrial Building Services for development and consulting tasks and Shaw Asset Management that handles property management with a nod to its enduring family values of excellence and integrity.
