Mike and Connie Nolan Pride themselves on what Shaw Lake farms has grown into over the years. As grower of several varieties of plants, specializing in hand crafted garlands, many varieties of Asparagus, Tree Fern, Plumosus, Springeri, Ming, and more. They both have weathered the ups and downs of a owning and managing a fernery. It began in the spring of 1983 with a half acre of Leather Leaf . Selling to local growers, and learning the science of growing floral greens to meet a larger marker. In 1991 Shaw Lake Farms was established to ship to the open market. Staring out with a 5 gallon buck of Tree Fern seeds that we planted one acre per year! With family values and hard work to guide this partnership through the fluctuating seasons with yearly threats of freezes and sweltering Florida heat, Mike and Connie have proven to themselves and the market that this farm is here to stay and flourish for years to come. With established relationships with national carriers and distribution channels throughout the US, Shaw Lake Farms boosts of providing America with the best in plant products for decorative and landscaping purposes. Our dedicated staff are committed to harvesting and caring for the finest plant products in the southeast. Owner Mike Nolan established Shaw Lake Farms in 1991 with the intent to produce high quality greens and provide their town of pierson with jobs opportunities on state of art facilities. Shaw Lake Farms is located 45 minutes west of Ormond Beach on Hwy 40 in the town of Pierson Fl, the Fern capital of the world. Take I-4 N to the Daytona and I-95 to Ormond and go west on Hwy 40 to Barberville and proceed North on Hwy 17 to Pierson if you are coming from Orlando.
