Shattering Darkness Ministries, officially Shattering Darkness Inc., was founded in 2004 following the dedicated missionary work of Lynn Kennedy. Starting her international ministry journey in Burkina Faso after spending a year studying French in France, Kennedy began ministering to the Dagara people group by 1998. This non-profit organization received IRS 501c3 designation and has steadily expanded its reach over the years. Operating primarily among unreached peoples in Southwestern Burkina Faso and Northwestern Ghana, Shattering Darkness Ministries employs innovative strategies including partnerships with local leaders and communities to facilitate outreach efforts. The ministries focus areas include women’s, youth, and children's programs across 13 of their 14 locations, providing essential nourishment through sponsored meals. The organization demonstrates dynamism by continually seeking new opportunities for service as guided by prayer partners and financial supporters, enabling them to maintain critical ongoing projects like the S.E.E.D project, a Christian Conference Center, cafeteria, pre-school, and office facilities.
