Company History John Sharp founded Sharp Transport in 1979 with one tractor. Sharp Transport Inc. has evolved into one of the largest family owned truckload carriers in Middle Tennessee employing over 200 people. The main terminal is located in Ethridge, Tennessee, a small farming community about an hour south of Franklin. We also have a metropolitan office located in Nashville, TN Sharp Transport Inc. has strong roots in Ethridge, As a dry van, general commodities carrier, Sharp shares much in common with many other carriers: competitive pay, good home time and excellent benefits. “The difference,” says, Sharp Transport Inc. President, Allie Sharp-Schwalb, “is that we know how to treat people. I think its because we were raised in a small southern town where people know you by name”. Allie learned the business from her father John Sharp who is now Chairman of the Board.
