Shadow Serenity, Inc. is a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) established in Pinellas County, Florida. Founded on the profound bond between Debbie Newman and her horse, Shadow, the organization was born out of the therapeutic connection that helped Debbie overcome challenges during her battle with ovarian cancer. Named after Shadow, the American Quarter Horse who provided Debbie comfort and serenity, Shadow Serenity is committed to enhancing the physical and emotional well-being of individuals facing cancer through spiritual support. Located at 6117 94th Ave North in Pinellas Park, Florida, the foundation was officially incorporated on July 3, 2014. Guided by a team of experienced leaders including President Jamie K Weil, Director Kevin Mr. Maller, and Secretary Suzi Tieman, Shadow Serenity manages its operations with integrity and dedication. The organization deploys a unique equine therapy program delivered by four remarkable horses: Shady, the inspiring CEO horse; Noah, a Percheron Draft/Quater Horse mix born in a blizzard; Yeager, a retired Thoroughbred racehorse known for his sensitivity and strength; and GiGi, a delightful miniature palomino who charms visitors at various facilities. Each of these equine therapists offers distinctive therapeutic benefits aimed at supporting those with cancer through personal interaction. Shadow Serenity actively engages the community by hosting events, providing therapies across various locations like hospitals and veteran medical centers, and continually working towards fulfilling its mission.
