Brother and Sister Team, Ken Treffinger and Barbara Gerdeman founded Set In Stone Lifecasting in January 2017.  Ken and Barb started by creating casts for family members and decided to build a business to share the unique process with others, to preserve their special moments.  Ken is married and has two children. He has spent the last 20 years serving the citizens of Sarasota County as a Firefighter / Paramedic for the Sarasota County Fire Department. Ken is very excited at the prospect of being able to help other individuals and families preserve their precious moments through lifecasting and takes great pride in the products that he offers. Not only is providing the top most quality product important to Ken, providing the upmost customer service is just as (if not even more) important to him. Barbara is married, has two children and is a very proud grandmother to three grandchildren. She has loved using her grandchildren as handcast models.  Barbara graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, works with the Art Center Sarasota as the Youth Art Education Coordinator, and has done many freelance projects for clients around the Sarasota / Manatee area. Barbara provides the “artistic element” of Set In Stone Lifecasting and is excited to work with clients to help preserve their special moments in time. Barbara and Ken have spent much time perfecting the art of lifecasting.  Together, they are confident that they can provide their customers an outstanding product with outstanding customer service and they look forward to working with you! A “lifecast” is defined as a “three-dimensional representation of a subject from a mold of their living body”. A lifecast is accurate enough to capture such fine detail as fingertips, wrinkles, and even hair follicles. Set In Stone Lifecasting creates custom sculptures of various body parts including hands, feet, “baby bumps”, torsos, and faces.  These body sculptures are all cast in a fine, stone like material which will last a lifetime.  Lifecasting is a great way to commemorate events such as engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, families, pregnancies, etc. We help you capture these precious moments in time and keep these memories alive forever.   Set In Stone Lifecasting comes to you, in the comfort of your home (or other chosen location), to create your cast.
