Schultz Building - Offering Clients Design/Build Services Since 1978 Schultz Building was started in 1978 by Tom Schultz with a commitment to quality and honesty. Tom had been employed for over 10 years by a local builder who in 1977 decided to move out of the area. At the time many of the builders in the area were handymen turned builders with no experience remodeling or building new homes. Not satisfied with the quality of work being done by many of those builders and unable to find another professional builder to work for, Tom decided to start Schultz Building. As with any business the early years were lean. At a time when most homes did not have an answering machine, advertising was done by word of mouth. However it did not take long for word to spread of a local builder who would take on any job, big or small, new home, remodeling or addition, garage or deck with a commitment to quality and honesty. As the business grew Tom developed an experienced crew who share the same values and dedication to quality work. Most of the employees have been with the company for over 10 years and some employees over 20 years! Throughout the years Tom has had the joy of employing his sons. Noel and Matt work for Schultz Building and Noel is currently handling the daily operations of the business. One of the main reasons Schultz Building has been successful over the years is training and education. As a past president of the local builders association Tom has made a commitment to educate people about proper building techniques and new technology. Noel continues in his father’s footsteps through his personal commitment to education through continuing educational classes, personal research and talking with other trade professionals. Schultz Building is a proud partner with the Wisconsin Energy Star Homes Program and continues to support and build sustainable homes and high performance homes. Over the 30 year history of Schultz Building, many changes have taken place within the building industry. However one area that never changes is the expectations a client has of their chosen builder. The expectations of quality in every detail of their project, the expectations of a good working relationship with honesty excepted as simply a part of that relationship are but three of the many things that Schultz Building believes should be expected along with excellence in a finished project. In striving to meet our client’s expectations we continually evaluate how we do business. After many conversations with our customers, past and present, we have developed three procedures as options in the building process. This allows the client to choose the best way for them to develop their dream. Beginning a remodel is a time when we don’t know what lies underneath, who built it and what their construction method was. There is a level of experience that is necessary to correctly evaluate and modify an existing structure. Schultz Building has gained that experience by 30 years of remodeling existing homes, some built up to 100 years ago. As a partner with the Wisconsin Energy Star Program we are committed to helping clients improve the performance of their homes. We do that by working with a certified energy consultant to evaluate your existing home. We can then recommend energy saving upgrades to your home that can be incorporated into your remodeling project.
