The company is led by the Parisotto family, beginning with Luigi Parisotto, who purchased the business in 1956. Under their vision, SCARPA expanded from crafting footwear for local farmers to becoming an iconic brand within north Italian mountaineering communities during the 1950s and 1960s. Pioneering developments such as high-altitude plastic boots for climbing have cemented SCARPA's reputation among both professional climbers and military personnel globally.
