who we are Hello! We are Scaring for Caring. We are a non-for-profit organization run by high school students that works in collaboration with the Dolphins Cancer Challenge. Our project raises funds for  advancements in cancer research. At Scaring for Caring, we believe that scaring is caring - therefore, every October we do a series of fundraising events leading to an epic haunted house on Halloween night! Two years ago we, co -founders of Scaring for Caring, were inspired by the Halloween spirit to build a haunted house. We knew that it needed to be a premier event that scared people to their very core, but more importantly, we knew that it needed to mean something. We thought of what was really scary in our everyday lives and we came across cancer. Thus, we guided 100% of our proceeds towards finding the cure for cancer. This project is special to us since we both have family members stricken with cancer. We want to help them and anyone else suffering with the disease as much as we can and seeing that the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has been instrumental in making  advancements in finding a cure, we guide all our donations towards them. As stated in our Miami Herald news article, "The fundraising money will be used for research including analyzing the makeup of each patient’s cancer, determining what factors are driving its growth and learning what will prevent it from continuing to grow and spread.
