In 2007 I reentered the workforce, again recruiting, only this time in the green sector. My specialty was Water Resources. I was building a book of business until everything crashed in 2009. From there, I had a variety of jobs until one day in 2013, I was out of ideas and so I surrendered. It was a powerful moment in which I let go of the idea that I knew what was best for me. That information lived somewhere else. I paid attention to the signs. It took just under two weeks… six seniors I know called and said, “I heard you teach the computer. Can you please help me?” I had not advertised that. And so Savvy Senior Services was born. In the beginning I focused on teaching computer skills to seniors. Soon after I learned about the Blue Zones and my mission took on the idea of teaching seniors about nutrition, the importance of always growing and learning and how critical it is to life a life of meaning and purpose. Learning about the Blue Zones activated something in me and I feverishly began researching nutrition, aging, longevity, maintaining cognitive strength and the field of conscious aging. is another way for me to help you achieve better health through nutrition. Hippocrates said, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food" and these are words I live by. I will help you get rid of all the inflammatory ingredients and foods and replace them with alternatives that support human health as well as show you delicious, health-promoting foods and recipes. Savvy Senior Services is the culmination of my own search for meaning and purpose. Perhaps it’s because my own parents died decades ago and I miss being around them. Perhaps it’s because, from the time I was in my teens, I always loved and have been attracted to my elders. Their wisdom, stories and perspective added color and texture to my world. I always saw their value, always treasured their experience. classes and workshops, helping seniors to declutter, and Kitchen Coaching fills me with a sense of purpose. It is my mission to help seniors everywhere find the same fulfillment in their lives.
