Sauer and another mechanical contractor were selected on a team basis to provide preconstruction services, hydronic piping, sheet metal and controls for the new Patient Tower. The team was selected and worked through the preconstruction phase to generate value alternates and recommend system options which reduced the cost significantly. The Ohio State University selected Sauer as part of a team to provide Design Assist HVAC piping and Plumbing for the new Wexner Medical Center complex. This project was a 1.1 million square foot Critical Cancer Care Center Tower with both clinical spaces and patient rooms. This project consisted of the installation of a new 40,000 lb/hr steam boiler at Riverside Methodist Hospital’s Central Plant that provided integration design and coordination with the existing boilers in the plant. This facility was designed to provide Class 100 Clean Room research and development space. The building contained an 8,000 sq. ft. laboratory, four (4) 1000 sq.ft. Class 100 Clean rooms, and a central utility plant.
