Who We Are Satori Interactive is a Professional Services Consulting Company providing specialized expertise for both commercial and government organizations in the areas of usability engineering, product design, systems, and applications. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), a large, worldwide hotel chain headquartered in Atlanta, needed to enhance the workflow and usability of their Group Price Optimization (GPO) pool. IHG required a number of improvements including alignment of the existing UI with new company standards and integrating the tool into a new UI container. Additionally, it was critical to understand user pain points and the process of how they evaluate groups to ensure that the correct data was displayed to facilitate informed decision making. Satori Interactive’s team implemented the ACCELERATED SERVICE to enhance IHG’s tool with an intuitive UI design and search capabilities. Further data visualization improvements to the tool included graphical data views, auto group optimization fields, additional note display, and the ability to preview and play out what-if scenarios for bookings. Satori’s researchers also recommended adding rate as a range and additional supporting data to the responsive dashboard design to assist with decision making and daily workflow while reducing the need for users to gather information on their own. IHG achieved increased productivity with this tool by reducing the need for team members to gather information for analysis of their booking profitability. The tool also incorporated their natural workflow which led to a decrease in time spent and manipulating data within the tool and discussion time needed around group profitability. IHG enjoys a reduction in costs spent on printed materials from multiple sources and man hours while increasing their profit opportunities through raising the likelihood of booking groups that will benefit the hotel.
