SANJEAN FACILITY CARE AND ASSISTED LIVING I started out as a care taker, which I loved doing, it’s one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. I love caring for the elderly. I have learned so much over the years from all their stories, and seeing them face all the challenges that have come their way. I enjoy hearing about things they did before coming here and just knowing how they liked to live their lives before coming to their new home. I feel it is so important to make them feel at home and know the people here truly care for them and are always here for them. I also enjoy getting to know their families and friends, and feel it is important for them to come to me with any questions or concerns, or even when they feel they just want to talk. I also learned many things about the business aspect of an Assisted Living Facility along the way. Then in 2009 I decided to start my own assisted living facility and work in the office and care for my residents from a new point of view. I feel so lucky to have a job that I can really make other peoples day as much as they make mine. It is so important they live their lives as happy and productively as possible. philosophy regarding older adults is: The residents are her “bosses”. They are the ones she works for. Having them feel a sense of security and comfort, meeting their needs while encouraging their independence, and involving their families and friends are her objectives.
