Saltwater Studies, Inc. (Saltwater Studies) is a for-profit company that offers biblically-based marine science education to all ages. The Bible says that God has left evidence of His character in all of Creation that we might have a relationship with Him. It is our goal at Saltwater Studies to guide our students in a scientific investigation of the marine environment, consequently increasing their knowledge of our world and building their relationship with our Creator. We design every class, field trip or experience to be an adventure in learning as we explore God’s magnificent creation. So dive in! Get your feet wet! We pray that your life will be forever changed as you experience God in a new way. What Can I Expect at a Saltwater Studies Event? Every Saltwater Studies class or field trip begins with prayer. At Saltwater Studies we recognize that the Lord is in control of His Creation. While we spend a large amount of time planning for the best event possible, it is the Lord who controls the logistics, including (for outdoor events) the weather and all marine life encountered. As such, we invite the Lord to reign over our events, bless them and ask Him to open the eyes of everyone participating so that they can see evidence of Him in all that He has made. Saltwater Studies incorporates biblical references in all its lectures and discussions to establish a Christ-centered focused for its events. Saltwater Studies professionals are knowledgeable in all aspects of the marine environment. Each Saltwater Studies event offers a wealth of scientific information presented from a biblical worldview. Participants are also encouraged to ask questions throughout the presentations to facilitate an interactive experience. Saltwater Studies believes that interaction with Creation provides an opportunity for worship as we appreciate the Creator for all that He has made. The Lord knows the hearts, minds, likes and interests of every person participating in a Saltwater Studies event. Oftentimes during Saltwater Studies’ field trips, participants will see an aspect of Creation that they particularly enjoy. At the conclusion of the Saltwater Studies event, participants are led in a time of thanksgiving, praising the Lord for His blessings experienced during the event. “Every class is taught by a woman with a heart for God who is well-trained as a marine biologist. While our name accurately represents what we do, each of these words alludes to Biblical truths that concisely describe our company’s beliefs and goals. Christa Jewett is the founder of Saltwater Studies, Inc., a company and ministry of the Lord that began in 2011. She has both a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Marine Biology and nearly 20 years of experience in Marine Sciences. She has worked as a Marine Researcher and an Environmental Consultant studying numerous marine species in locales as varied as Great South Bay, New York, several Caribbean Islands and Queensland, Australia. She also has 15 years of experience in education, specializing in curriculum development, training and instruction of Marine, Environmental and Boating Safety Courses. She is also trained and certified in water rescue, boating safety, and sailboat operation. An accomplished writer, she is also a published author and editor of technical articles and educational curriculum. She personally compiles and/or writes all Saltwater Studies curriculum in order to ensure classes are biblically-based while also offering scientifically accurate information.
