Soon after starting a custom charter business, Shannon and Ryan decided they wanted to give back to combat veterans by establishing an opportunity for these warriors to get out on water and enjoy life and learn how to relax. This enables our veterans to gain a rare experience in sailing, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkleing, or just sight seeing while promoting a bonding atmosphere with fellow soldiers. Shannon worked as a private security contractor in the Middle East. After transitioning back to working stateside, she started her own private charter business. Shannon is a certified 100 ton master captain. With help from many selfless donations, on July 4th of 2017 Sailing With Soldiers had its inaugural sail out of Key West, Florida. We were able to take out Willie Myers, a former medic injured while serving overseas. We are so grateful for the oppurtunity to give back to the community. SAILING WITH SOLDIERS We are a nonprofit organization giving back to U.S. servicemen. Our intent is to provide a unique experience on the ocean for anyone wounded in the service of our great nation. Our activites vary from sailing, fishing, snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking. We base each trip on the abilities of our hero on board.
