SDI has been serving the food service industry for decades.  We are a family owned and operated business that was born, as a result of a lifetime ambition from a hard working Hispanic family living the American dream. Mr. Echemendia Sr. our founder, had always been involved in the food service business. He dedicated more than 30 years to the industry and always aspired to have a company of his own to distribute, and fulfill the demand for higher quality products, diversity and dependable customer service. After years of diligent work in local supermarkets, he saved enough money to start his small business, and today SDI Specialty Foods has grown to be one of the most respected and prominent distributors of spices, herbs, condiments and beverages to list a few, locally and nationwide. With a second generation in place, we are looking forward to continuing our founder’s mission and principles, and to expanding our products into other industries and regions so our customers’ patrons can enjoy the quality of products they deserve.
