RVR HORSE RESCUE INC, Plant City

About RVR Horse Rescue RVR Horse Rescue, Inc is a horse rescue facility located in Riverview, Florida dedicated to saving and rehabilitating horses. RVR Horse Rescue is not a sanctuary, but rather a home for the rescued to build their minds, bodies, and souls to allow them to move on and find a forever home through our adoption program. We provide each horse with the care, training, and space they need to recover. If a horse is unable to recover from their abuse/neglect, we allow them to cross the rainbow bridge with peace, comfort, dignity and love surrounding them. We work closely with a team of equine specialists, and make our decisions based on what is best for each horse. Our horses live in herds, so they can build important bonds with other horses. These bonds are an important part of their rehabilitation. When our horses have completed their rehabilitation we look for lifetime forever homes for them. Each horse has specific needs and care so we are diligent to find the right forever home for each and every one of them. We are firm believers that pasture pals can be just as wonderful and fulfilling members of a family and herd as a sound horse. We adopt within two hours of our rescue, as we like to stay in touch with our rescue families to ensure that our mission is carried over to our rescue’s new homes. Growing up on a 1,000-acre ranch in Texas Shawn quickly realized her dream of providing a safe haven for abused and neglected horses, along with their rehabilitation and placing them in forever homes. Following her dreams led to the 40-acre ranch which is home to RVR Horse Rescue RVR Horse Rescue is a non-profit organization. We rely on the generous donations of people like you to support our mission. At RVR Horse Rescue we are there to intervene for the horses that need us most. Many of our rescues come from owner surrenders & the Sheriffs department. How Can I help? RVR is doing the work that most people don't want to. By taking horses who are abused and starved they are giving them a second chance at life. These animals deserve better than they got at man's hands and RVR has given them that chance. It is assisted by volunteers who care about their survival. I pray that there will come a day when the horses no longer need a rescue to help them, but until then RVR is the best at what it does. Keep up the good work. I have watched for the past few years RVR growing and becoming one of the most beautiful pieces of heaven on earth - The love and dedication to the animals is a magical thing to witness . I have seen the deep human concern for making these saddened - and sometimes extremely sick creatures whole again - and eventually matching them -with great thought behind- by the owner Shawn Jayroe - to a human that they can trust again . The whole process is incredible ! So much energy and focus and the possibilities are proven every time I visit . Help a Horse day this year was organized to help raise much needed funds and understating of the mission this group of volunteers are on . I have a deep respect for Shawn and her team of horse angels and I wish RVR all the best and can't wait to visit again I had the opportunity to attend the Help a Horse event. I was amazed at all that is done for the horses and the excellent condition of the facility. Very clean. The stories of the horses brought tears to my eyes - sad to see the condition they were in when brought to the facility and extatic to see the care and improvement of their overall health. The volunteers and facility truly care about the horses and give their time freely to provide care to these amazing animals. RVR horse rescue is an amazing place, these people pour their heart and soul not to mention time and commitment to helping the horse that people have abused, neglect Ted and starved, they spend countless hours trying to save them. I have seen first hand what they do. They are fighters and the voices for the horses that can't I can to help. I was going to return the second day, I visited the first time, but a horse was dying and I just couldn't take it. Right, then and there I decided I didn't want to open my own rescue, I am just too emotional. I will do what I do best, I write checks! The people that work at the rescue are not at guy who I have been in touch with from the onset. Pictures are posted on a regular basis and I know he has found his forever home. Having been in the horse racing industry for years, I have dealt with many, so called, rescue organizations which are strictly about making a buck. RVR has the horses' best interest in mind.....period. Which is the ultimate goal. RVR Horse Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) Non Profit organization in Riverview Florida. Here at RVR Horse Rescue our mission is to intervene on behalf of mistreated horses. We rescue, rehabilitate and provide a safe place for neglected, abused, and abandoned horses. Most have been passed from owner to owner, never knowing love or consistency.
