RUNCON (formerly Runkle Consulting, Inc.) is a structural engineering firm that provides structural engineering for specialized applications such as emergency power structures, modification of shipping containers for buildings, wall cladding, and light gauge steel. We also provide more conventional structural engineering for commercial structures. What Services Do We Provide? We provide structural engineering for projects that need buildings that can be erected quickly and are transportable. This began in 1997 when Lt. Col. Runkle (USAFR Ret.) designed facilities at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Emirates. As we have moved forward, we have developed an expertise in cold formed steel and shipping containers. Our clients come to us from a variety of backgrounds with their special needs for various structures that have to go up in a hurry in often remote areas. We have provided engineering services for projects in the United States, Canada, Israel, Haiti, and Afghanistan. This project in Canada won't make the cover of an Architectural magaine, but we're proud of it. : We provide structural designs for smaller commercial projects. Our designs have included foundations for small manufacturing plants, small retail facilities, day care facilities, and veterinary hospitals. : We provide structural engineering for shop drawings that may be required as part of your contract. In our current work we provide engineering guidance for shop drawings of architectural finishes, windows, and store front systems. We also engineer and prepare shop drawings for cold-formed steel construction. : We are experienced in the design of cold formed steel for primary structures and building cladding. We provide structural failure analysis and remediation design for foundation failures and can provide failure analysis for wood framed structures. AJ Blyden is a recent graduate of Savannah State University and joined the company in March, 2016. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology, and his primary function is structural engineering design. He also performs structural condition assessments, and is our expert in REVIT for 3d Design and programing in MathCAD. Jay Runkle is our CAD operator and IT guy. He has recently completed the requirements for an AS in IT at Gwinnett Tech. He is expecting to continue pursuing his Bachelors degree in starting in Fall 2018. He does AutoCAD drafting and is in charge of our IT. With his expertise we have custom built our computers to meet the precise needs of our firm. We are not licensed in California and we do not provide design services at this time in California. We do not know any engineers in California that can help you with Shipping Container Design. We do not provide Shipping Container Design services to individual homeowners. We only provide services to commercial concerns and professional builders for these structures.
