Royal Palm Players, Inc. is a vibrant community theater organization based in Boca Grande, Florida, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life through live entertainment. Founded on April 21, 1992, RPP has made a significant cultural impact by providing opportunities for local volunteers to engage in acting, singing, and dancing. The company not only entertains but also fosters community involvement by seeking assistance in various roles such as event setup and breakdown, hosting cast parties, cooking, baking, serving, providing linens and paper goods, and writing invitations. RPP emphasizes inclusive participation, urging individuals to get involved while enjoying the experience. Throughout its tenure, notable members have made substantial contributions: Priscilla, a former actress in Connecticut, is actively engaged with RPP both on stage and behind the scenes, directing productions alongside her educational work through Kids Drama Club. Betsy, pivotal since RPP's inception, manages one of Boca Grande’s top restaurants and leverages this experience in organizing successful fundraisers, managing public relations, and handling performance logistics as a board member. Meryl has enriched the theater community with her extensive background from Arena Stage in Washington D.C. Currently, RPP is led by officers like Elaine Skypala, holding the position of Secretary, along with Directors D. Scott Wise and Court Alice. The organization continues to cultivate talent and enthusiasm for community theater under its registered status as a Florida nonprofit corporation (DOMNP), adhering to all regulatory requirements.
