The idea for Roomaters was actually born back in 2012 when a group of friends living together in NY were discussing “what’s next” as their lease came close to an end. They agreed that life would be so much easier if a service existed to help like-minded individuals connect with each other in order to share living space and expenses. Fast forward to 2017... The Roomaters Team Roomater's third partner, and one of Jon’s former roommates, Daniel was equally excited about the opportunity. He moved from New Jersey to Florida directly after college to pursue a job with the Florida Panthers. Not knowing anyone, he was forced to rent a small space by himself. He has personally experienced what it’s like to go from being in College with a lot of friends to moving to a new city, being on his own for the first time. He didn’t feel comfortable looking for a roommate on Craigslist and immediately embraced the concept of Roomaters. Now he hopes to help others who are experiencing times of “new beginnings” in their lives find more than a roommate, but a friend in a new city.
