Kate joined Roofmeadow in 2015 as a Landscape Designer, and quickly led a team of Roofmeadow colleagues and other collaborators to win the Community Design Collaborative’s Play Space Competition. Previously, she earned her MLA from University of Pennsylvania School of Design in 2012 and spent three years honing her skills at boutique firms in the Philadelphia area. Currently she assists in the Introductory Ecology sequence at PennDesign, contributes to the Penn Program for Environmental Humanities, and has volunteered with local initiatives such as the Philly Seed Exchange, the Institute for Contemporary Art, Philly Parking Day and the Philadelphia Folklore Project. Past professional highlights include an environmental artist residency in Norway, landscape design for Salt Design, Margie Ruddick Landscape and the Land Collective, research and development for OLIN, product design for SHIFT_DESIGN and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, environmental planning with the DVRPC and numerous design-build projects. Sustainable problem-solving, environmental justice and play are what get her out of bed in the morning. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia, our office environment is open, collaborative, energetic and dynamic.
