Mission Statement: organized a benefit show for a local breast cancer charity. At the same time Mark Hollamon was promoting a show at the House of Blues-Orlando with rock legends Soul Asylum. Mark asked Cori to play the show and the two labeled the event Rock Pink. Cori and Mark with other founding members Dave Fragale and Angie Carloss saw the opportunity to reach out to a younger demographic realizing this was a way to close an educational gap in the community. The goal was to combine the natural draw of local area musical talent with a softer approach to raise breast health awareness starting at a younger age as early detection of the disease substantially increases the chance for effective treatment and survival. The phrase "Sharing the importance of understanding Breast Health Awareness" (BSA) and "How to perform a Breast Self Exam (BSE) as keys to early detection for breast cancer" became the mantra at all Rock Pink events. One out of every eight women is affected by breast cancer in her lifetime. The Rock Pink Concert Series was developed in 2008 and its cornerstone was the Rock Pink Battle of the Bands in which local talent jointly promoted shows and competed with each other with the winner earning the coveted opening spot at a national Rock Pink show.
