Notice: The Governor of Texas and the Texas State Legislature have passed a new law that strips Texans of our consumer rights against insurance companies. As such, it will be much more difficult to for Texas consumers to recover any money from insurance companies after September 1, 2017. Be sure you file any insurance claim before the end of August 2017. Anyone who believes they may have property damage from Hurricane Harvey should call their insurance 800 number or file their claim online AND send a written notice to their insurance BEFORE 12:00 a.m. on September 1, 2017. Notices should be sent to your insurance company through a verifiable way. The best way is to send your notice letter via certified mail, return receipt requested. If certified mail is unavailable, your Insurance Company will have either an email address or fax number that can be used to send written notices. Faxes can be sent easily and quickly from your computer through internet fax services.
