Richard Brooks Investigations Richard Brooks Investigations, or RBI, was founded in 2006 by Richard A. Brooks to offer As a PI, Richard has conducted all types of investigations across Texas and the Eastern United States. He has been a surveillance investigator, a special investigations unit (SIU) investigator, a special investigations unit manager, a case manager and a criminal defense investigator.  Richard has worked for many firms, to include several nationwide investigative agencies and law firms. Mr. Brooks accepted a promotion to case manager and relocated from the Jackson, Mississippi area to Orlando, Florida in 2005. As a case manager in Orlando, Mr. Brooks managed the entire state of Florida’s investigations, which included up to 25 full and part time investigators. Even as the state's case manager, Richard Brooks continued to work complex cases himself.  Richard returned to the Jackson, Mississippi area at the end of 2006 to be closer to his children. At that time, Mr. Brooks started Richard Brooks Investigations, LLC, to offer investigative services across Mississippi and surrounding states with the same high quality and standards of much larger licensed investigative agencies across the United States.  Unlike most agencies, Mr. Brooks enjoys utilizing undercover tactics to this day in many of his cases. Wouldn’t you prefer a licensed professional to work your case and provide testimony later?  When hiring a PI, ask the following questions:  Is the PI licensed anywhere and are they adequately trained?  Do they receive regular continuing education?  Do they hold any certifications?  What associations do they belong to?  Can and will they testify on your behalf?  Remember, it is a felony to provide private investigative services without a license in many states.  Also, if your case goes to court and your investigator was not licensed properly, all of the information they obtained cannot be used.  Use caution when hiring a Private Investigator, especially in non licensed states such as Mississippi. We are located in the Jackson, Mississippi area.  Some agencies claim they conduct investigations in Mississippi strictly because the state is not licensed.  The majority of these companies are actually located outside of Mississippi.  They travel in and out of the state.   We understand that the decision to hire a private investigator is not an easy one.
