Submission Grappling is a new sport with a long history. The object is to submit your opponent using a variety of joint locks and chokes, or to win the match on points. Competitions in this sport resemble Brazilian Jiu-jitsu competitions, although competitors do not usually wear gis. Aimed at kids ages 5-12 yrs old, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kids Program integrates physical education and self-defense technique with conditioning and skill-building games aimed at improving coordination, motor skills, agility and flexibility. Our program helps young students develop important character traits and values. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and self-defense system rooted in traditional Japanese JuJitsu and further developed by the Gracie family in Brazil to combine Judo, Wrestling, Grappling and Submission techniques. The focus of the sport is to control and overcome greater size and strength by utilizing superior leverage, grip and position upon your opponent.
