Attention: Rescue Mission Unlimited, Dr. Sharon Buchalter
Families currently in crisis who we are helping
Cheri is a strong woman. She is independent, smart, funny, beautiful, and tough. She is an overcomer and has the faith of God to fight this cancer, but needs everyone’s help to win!
Why did Rescue Mission get involved?
President and co-founder of Rescue Mission, Dr. Sharon Fried Buchalter was contacted by a life-long friend of Cheri, and told about Cheri’s fight with breast cancer and the terrible struggles she now has as a result of her diagnosis and battle with the disease. Sharon and Vice President and Co-founder Gayle Denney immediately came to Cheri’s aid and have taken up her cause.
How did Rescue Mission help Cheri and her family?
As soon as Sharon heard about Cheri and her family, she immediately agreed that Rescue Mission needed to help. Just in time for holiday’s, Rescue Mission is presenting Cheri with a check for $1800 to help her with expenses. This is a wonderful gift and we’d like to give more. If you can donate even $5 to her cause it would be a blessing. Please help and give what you can!
Why did Rescue Mission get involved
Co-founder and Vice President of Rescue Mission, Gayle Denney, heard about Rudy and his family through another non-profit organization, Works in Faith. The Lopez’ story was so touching, that she knew they had to help. Gayle contacted President and co-founder of Rescue Mission, Dr. Sharon Fried Buchalter, and told her about Rudy’s amazing story. Gayle explained to Dr. Sharon how a few years ago, the Lopez family hired a contractor that made an addition to their house that would help Rudy. The room, when finished, would give Rudy a handicap accessible bathroom to increase his independence and give him a place he can maneuver in and out of on his own. Unfortunately, the contractor left in the middle of the project, and the room sits incomplete with exposed electrical wires, no plumbing, no roof, and a concrete floor.
How did Rescue Mission help Rudy and his family
As soon as Gayle told Sharon about Rudy and his family, she immediately agreed that Rescue Mission needed to help. On December 15, at a fundraising dinner for Rudy Lopez and his family (a.k.a. A Room for Rudy), Rescue Mission Unlimited presented Rudy and his family with a check for $5000 to help complete a Room for Rudy.
