Founded in 1996, when Roberta Lowe of Rent Key West Properties and Dawn Thornburgh of Beach Club Brokers, Inc. combined their businesses, Rent Key West Vacations is one of the longest standing vacation rental companies on Key West. Both Roberta and Dawn brought years of Key West experience and a collection of vacation rental properties to the table. Roberta continued to focus on long term rental management and Dawn continued with real estate sales and management. In 2000, new leadership came to Rent Key West Vacations. While purchasing a vacation rental home to add to the inn operations at The Mermaid & The Alligator Bed & Breakfast, Paul Hayes & Dean Carlson agreed to purchase Rent Key West Vacations. Paul, as the managing partner & President, took the reins and started to grow the company to its current size of nearly 80 properties. Striving to learn more and grow the business, Paul & Dean attended a vacation rental management conference. Before long, Paul become a board member of the . And in 2005, Paul became the board president, a seat he currently holds. Paul travels the state meeting with vacation rental managers and law makers in his role as president of the Florida Vacation Rental Managers Association. This is a great asset to learning the latest internet marketing methods and finding new and better ways to manage a small business in Florida.
