The Reel Miami Project is an original short film project and the first in the Reel City Films series. Six award-winning South Florida filmmakers are directing six independent short films about Miami. The films will provide viewers with a glimpse of the Magic City and drive awareness of the locations, hotels and restaurants featured in each film. While each film will tell its own unique and independent story, all six films will share one common theme - a weekend in Miami. The Reel Miami Project is also an interactive travel-focused initiative designed to deliver a unique opportunity to discover Miami. Created by Frank Kelly, Creator and Executive Producer of Reel City Films, the film series showcases Miami, neighborhood by neighborhood. Accompanying each film is a collection of webisodes which provide viewers with a closer look at the hotels, restaurants and brands featured in the films. The project encourages viewers to experience the films and then live the experience for themselves. REEL CITY FILMS Reel City Films is a film production company designed to showcase the hottest cities and brands through original short films, videos and branded entertainment. The model leverages social media and traditional PR to generate awareness and interest for the destinations, establishments and products featured within the films. The first featured city is Miami, with plans to then target other major cities across America and potentially the world. Reel City Films strategically integrates brands into a series of films, webisodes, and an interactive website that are all designed to entertain viewers as they learn more about the locations featured and compel them to take action. In addition to the Reel Miami Project model, Reel City Films also produces custom videos, webisodes and branded entertainment films. Frank Kelly is the Creator/Executive Producer of the Reel Miami Project and Founder of Reel City Films. He oversees the creative direction and production of the project and the short films. Prior to his involvement in film, Frank spent over 10 years in corporate America fine tuning his marketing skills. He launched products, created PR strategies, promoted brands and developed effective marketing campaigns for Johnson & Johnson. In 2010, his love for film drove him to part ways with corporate America and he took the first step towards pursuing his dream and developing the Reel Miami Project. In 2011, Frank leaped into the film and video production industry. He started his own production company and began writing, producing and editing videos for local Miami clients. His keen ability to identify talent, market his ideas and sell his concepts have led him to secure clients such as Bacardi and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Frank is also an accomplished professional speaker. He has spoken at conferences across the globe and was the closing speaker at a Central America TEDx Conference. His keynote speeches encourage audience members to identify their big idea, believe in themselves and follow their dreams. Frank is also the brainchild behind Project Vacant Streets – a program designed to empower South Florida’s homeless and provide them with a second chance. His efforts led to national acclaim and garnered him a spot on NBC Nightly News with Brian William’s “Making a Difference” segment. Today, Frank focuses his efforts on Reel City Films and plans to take this model to other cities across the globe. Interested in becoming a sponsor and having your brand in our project?
