Last May, a black cat showed up at a house with her 4 baby kittens. She was a very good mom and kept her kittens nearby while she found food for herself. She was such a good mom that she stayed close by when her kittens were rescued and brought inside. She followed and stayed with them even though she did not trust the people who were helping her kittens - Khandro (black), his brothers, Hunter (black/white tuxedo) and Ashoka (Siamese), and his sister Kelsey (tortoise shell).  Khandro's mom was trapped, spayed and released back to her neighborhood. His brothers and sister were adopted, but beautiful Khandro was still waiting for his forever family to find him. In the meantime, he went to live with his foster family, where he had another cat to keep him company, children to play with, and a mom and dad to keep him safe. He likes to explore, run around, learned to play fetch, and do all the fun things that kittens love to do. But he is a very calm kitten, and growing into a big, beautiful black cat! Rebels Rescue is currently funded 100% by donations and adoption fees. Rebels Rescue is looking for volunteers for our Saturday adoption events at various pet stores. Volunteers working in adoption support provide two important roles in helping to fulfill our mission. The first is customer assistance on the adoption floor, answering questions from visitors and completing adoptions of our animals. The second is animal socialization that helps keep our animals happy, healthy and adoptable. You will be showing cats to prospective adopters, so it is very important that the volunteer is comfortable handling a cat within the cage. Cat/Kitten Foster parents to welcome into their homes and provide a nurturing and comfortable environment for the animal to mature heal or socialize. The cats will stay until they get adopted into their forever families. Rebels Rescue asks that foster parents provide the basic essentials for foster animals, i.e. food, litter, toys, etc. All veterinary care and necessary medications will be provided by Rebels Rescue.
